AIST is one of the first non-state owned broadcasting companies in Eastern Siberia, Russia. It was established in 1991. Today AIST is the leader in manufacturing the most number of different thematic and genre teleprogrammes in the Irkutsk area. AIST’s production reflects the native’s true need and it is flexible in adopting audience’s preferences — which is the reason it has about one million audiences in total. Other than being an unique broadcasting company in the Irkutsk area, AIST also collaborates with overseas partners such as UBS-Mongolia and BTV-Japan. In 2008, AIST created its branch in the Mongolia (AIST-Mongolia) to achieve the telecast in Ulan-Bator and to create news programme and other television programs that run 24/7. AIST is the ideological inspirer and organizer behind the International festival of amateur films The Fish Eye. As a dynamic broadcaster, AIST also involves itself in charities helping children and orphans. It also actively participates in professional competitions on international and federal levels. The broadcaster owns an advertising agency which renders all spectrum of advertising services.

“AIST “constantly produces 15 own programs.
« House’ Affairs » is the entertaining-information programme. It is a telecast about house efforts which excite each mistress and not only her. How to choose the goods, where is better to have a vacation, what dish to prepare for a festive table and to whom you can address with the problem - answers to these questions are interesting and useful to each person. « House’ Affairs » is a programme for each member of a family. Every plot is constructed on the basis of skilled experts' recommendations which can help to solve a difficult household question. Constantly there are a culinary heading, master classes of Irkutsk designers of clothes and of an interior.
Throughout six years on the air of a broadcasting company "AIST" the author's programme "Physical examination" has entered with professor Andrey Shuko. This programme explains popularly to the spectator the difficult medical moments, its visitors are doctors who tell about the widespread and rare diseases and answer any questions connected with health. "Physical examination" acquaints in detail townspeople with establishments of public health services in Irkutsk and helps to understand new modern technologies. The programme headings are «Medical news», «the Children's room», "Question-answer", «Consultation of the expert», «Beauty Institute».
«Irkutsk autocratic» is the programme about history of our city. The main purpose is to tell about Irkutsk as independent, integral power which has always developed under its own laws. It is a programme not only about the history, it is the programme about us, modern inhabitants of Irkutsk, and how our city develops, lives, keeping historical traditions today. One of the features of the programme is art fragments and episodes from the life of inhabitants of our city – merchants, noblemen, teachers, doctors, families, usual people. Actors of Irkutsk’ theaters are invited for shootings. Also archives of the East-Siberian studio of a newsreel are used in the programme.
The city information channel "Tuning fork". Three times a week is on the air of a broadcasting company "AIST". There are a lot of questions of townspeople, which are answered with the people defining prospects of a development of the city: heads of managements and departments of administration of Irkutsk, deputies of the Duma, representatives of public organizations, scientists and cultures. And they not simply answer, they help to find a decision of different problems.
The programme "Layman/Dilettante" is a view of the young curious journalist at our life, at details and features of various kinds of person’s activity, at a society as a whole. Thus each programme is also a process of growth of the journalist, and the sensations shown in a shot (absolutely in its true colours), experiences, and also all the doubts and professional success of the beginning author.
International festival of amateur films "The Fish Eye"
“Look at the world wide” - more than ten years international festival of amateur film" Fish Eye "refers a call to the authors from different countries. Since 2002 festival has an international status. Participants of the “Fish Eye “- unprofessional cameramen, for whom the creation of films is a hobby. According to the regulations of the festival , in Russia, Mongolia, Japan, South Korea television partners “Fish Eye" organize the national finals. Authors from other countries could declare their work to any national final. Then the best films participate in the international final, which turn takes one of four television partners.
